Altausseer See, Alpine lake near Loser Mountain, Austria.
Lake Altaussee stretches 2.6 kilometers in length and reaches a maximum depth of 73 meters, containing 72.7 million cubic meters of water.
The lake's formation resulted from glacial movements approximately 16,000 years ago, which created the deep basin in the Totes Gebirge mountains.
The Daffodil Festival takes place at Lake Altaussee every third year, establishing itself as the largest flower celebration in Austria.
Stern Schifffahrt GmbH operates regular boat services on the lake, including an electric-powered catamaran for environmental protection.
The lake receives water primarily from karst springs at its bottom, which supply approximately 3,750 liters of water per second.
