Gehrenspitze

Gehrenspitze is a mountain in the Tannheimer range that rises to 2163 meters and features steep rocky sections near its peak. The summit sits at a point where the slope transitions from forested lower sections to bare, exposed rock at the top.

The mountain has long served as a natural boundary marker between communities in the Tyrolean region dating back to medieval settlements. Over time it became a key orientation point for routes connecting different valleys in the area.

Local mountaineering clubs organize regular guided tours to Gehrenspitze, maintaining traditional alpine climbing practices and safety protocols throughout the seasons.

Several marked trails lead to the summit from the nearby villages, with the Otto-Mayr-Hütte providing rest spots and refreshments along the way. Hikers should plan for typical alpine conditions and be prepared for exposed terrain near the peak.
