The Tanzquartier Wien is a contemporary dance house in the MuseumsQuartier dedicated to experimental dance forms. The venue includes dance studios, a performance hall, and a library holding recordings of dance productions.

The Tanzquartier Wien opened in autumn 2001 in the MuseumsQuartier, almost simultaneously with the MUMOK, the Leopold Museum, the ZOOM Kindermuseum and the Architekturzentrum Wien. It was Austria's first production and event centre devoted exclusively to contemporary dance and performance. Sigrid Gareis was its founding artistic director until 2009; Walter Heun followed from 1 July 2009, Bettina Kogler from 2018, and Isabel Lewis and Rio Rutzinger from the 2025/26 season.

The Tanzquartier Wien serves as a meeting point where artists and audiences explore new forms of movement and expression together. Performances here showcase work from dancers around the world who experiment and share their creative visions with visitors.

The center is open weekdays from 9:00 AM to 7:30 PM and Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 7:30 PM. Visitors can easily reach it by walking through the MuseumsQuartier.

The TQW runs a public theory and media centre with a library and media library, open to anyone interested in dance, not only to professionals. Its programme is built with partner venues abroad, among them the Künstlerhaus Mousonturm in Frankfurt am Main, the Rotterdamse Schouwburg, the Choreographisches Zentrum NRW in Essen and the Vooruit arts centre in Ghent.
