Schöntalspitze is a mountain summit in the Stubai Alps featuring steep rock faces and multiple climbing routes across the alpine terrain. The peak demands technical skill and specialized equipment from those who attempt to reach it.

Schöntalspitze was first climbed in 1892, as recorded in the summit's documentation. The peak rises as a forward post on the northeast ridge of the Grubenwand, about 0.36 km from that mountain, and is linked by a ridge to the roughly equal-height Zischgeles about a kilometre north. Its documented climbing history centres on these Stubai Alps ridges rather than on any 19th-century route network.

The peak is climbed most often in winter as a ski tour from Lüsens through the Schöntal and up the northeast flank, while summer ascents usually start at the Westfalenhaus. The name Schöntal, "beautiful valley", refers to the valley below the mountain.

The ascent demands advanced mountaineering knowledge and technical climbing skills alongside proper equipment. Good preparation and experience with alpine terrain are essential for a safe climb.

The Schöntalspitze is a pure rock peak; the small Zischgelesferner glacier lies west of the summit, below the ridge. In winter it is climbed far more often as a ski tour from Lüsens through the Schöntal and up the northeast flank than by the summer path.
