Westfalenhaus, Mountain hut at 2276 meters in Tyrol, Austria.
The Westfalenhaus is a mountain hut located at 2276 meters (7467 feet) on an alpine ridge in the Stubai Alps. It connects multiple hiking routes and provides sweeping views across the surrounding mountain terrain.
The hut was established by the Munich Division of the German Alpine Club. Extensive renovations between 2009 and 2010 updated the guest facilities and infrastructure.
The hut serves as a gathering place where hikers rest and enjoy meals featuring local mountain ingredients. Shared dining spaces create moments where visitors connect with each other and experience traditional alpine hospitality.
The hut can be reached in about 2.5 hours via a summer trail starting from Lüsens in Sellraintal. An alternate route from Praxmar takes roughly 3 hours and offers a different approach to the ridge.
The hut provides access to three distinct peaks with varying elevations that attract climbers of different skill levels. This variety makes it a versatile starting point for mountain adventures ranging from moderate to more demanding routes.
