Yevlakh District

Yevlakh District spans 1,537 square kilometers along the Kura River, featuring a semi-arid climate with temperatures ranging from -1.5°C to 34.3°C throughout the year.

The district emerged from Elisabethpol Governorate in the early 19th century and received its current administrative status on February 20, 1935 under Azerbaijan SSR.

The district maintains 45 libraries, multiple cultural centers, music schools, and two museums dedicated to regional history, ethnography, and national leader Heydar Aliyev.

Transportation infrastructure includes Yevlak Airport, the Baku-Gazakh highway, and railway connections to Turkey and Georgia through the Kars-Tbilisi-Baku line.

The region contributes to Azerbaijan's economy through agricultural processing, clay extraction, sand mining, and gravel production from local natural deposits.
