Shahdag National Park, National park in Shamakhi District, Azerbaijan
Shahdag National Park extends across 130,508 hectares of mountainous terrain, featuring Mount Bazardüzü and numerous forest ecosystems in northern Azerbaijan.
The national park received its official status in December 2006 through a presidential decree, with subsequent expansion in July 2010.
The park encompasses several ethnic villages where local communities maintain their traditions and produce handmade items like Lezgi jorab socks.
Visitors gain access to transportation services, guided tours, car rentals, and accommodation options through the park's management center.
The park serves as a sanctuary for the East Caucasian tur, a mountain-dwelling goat antelope found exclusively in the eastern Caucasus Mountains.
