Kaliya jue Temple, Hindu temple in Dinajpur, Bangladesh

The Kaliya jue Temple sits on the western side of Dinajpur Rajbari and displays traditional Hindu architectural features with intricate carvings throughout its structure. The building shows the craftwork and design methods that were common in the region at the time it was built.

The temple was built in the 18th century (1700s) within the Thakurbari quarter of Dinajpur Rajbari, north of the palace's Durga temple. It stands west of the Rajbari and is dedicated to Krishna. Each year before Janmashtami, the Rukmini-Kanta image from Kantajiu Temple is brought here, a custom once carried out by boat on the Dhepa River and by palanquin procession.

Hindu worshippers use this temple to perform prayers and ceremonies dedicated to Lord Krishna, maintaining religious practices that remain central to daily life in the Dinajpur region.

The temple is open during daytime hours and visitors can observe religious rituals performed by worshippers. Early morning is the best time to visit, as that is when temple activities are most active.

The temple blends Bengali and Hindu architectural styles, allowing two different building traditions to come together in one structure. The detailed carvings on its walls and architectural elements tell stories about Lord Krishna through visual imagery rather than written text.
