Vinnyajagat, Amusement park
Vinnyajagat is an amusement park on the edge of Rangpur city, Bangladesh, with rides for children and adults, a planetarium, a small museum, restaurants, and areas for picnics and group events. The grounds also include overnight accommodation with swimming pools and barbecue areas, along with a water fountain where evening cultural events take place.
Vinnyajagat was established as a local leisure and education project in Rangpur, becoming one of the first parks of its kind in this part of Bangladesh. Over time, new attractions were added, including the planetarium, which brought the park recognition beyond the city.
The park has a planetarium, the first of its kind in Bangladesh, where visitors sit under a large dome and watch shows about planets and stars. School groups visit regularly, and the planetarium is one of the most attended parts of the grounds.
The park opens early in the morning and closes in the evening, so arriving at the start of the day helps avoid crowds that build up later, especially on weekends and public holidays. The cooler months between November and February are the most comfortable time for an outdoor visit.
The park's small museum displays models of world landmarks such as the Taj Mahal, the Great Wall of China, and the Eiffel Tower, all gathered in one site in northern Bangladesh. This means visitors can walk past replicas of monuments from three continents in the space of a single afternoon.
