Tista Railway Bridge

The Tista Railway Bridge is a railway structure that crosses the Teesta River in the Rangpur area of northern Bangladesh. It connects three districts along the Burimari-Parbatipur railway line.

The bridge opened in 1901 as a major rail connection in northern Bangladesh. Decades later, wooden sleepers were added to allow vehicles to cross, expanding its role beyond railways alone.

The bridge links communities across the Teesta River and enables trade and daily movement between three districts. For local people, it represents an important passage that brings regions together.

The bridge can be accessed via the Burimari-Parbatipur railway line in northern Bangladesh. Construction activity nearby means the area may look different depending on current development phases.

This structure ranks among Bangladesh's larger railway bridges and has served two different purposes since its creation. Both train traffic and vehicle crossings occur on the same span.
