Uttara Export Processing Zone, Export processing zone in Nilphamari, Bangladesh
The Uttara Export Processing Zone extends over 213 acres of industrial land in the Shongalshi area of northern Bangladesh.
The government of Bangladesh established this industrial complex in September 2001 as the seventh export processing zone in the national network.
The zone creates employment opportunities for 30,000 workers from Nilphamari District, supporting the economic development of local communities.
The industrial zone contains 180 designated plots, with 138 allocated to manufacturing companies and 12 currently operating production facilities.
International companies like Evergreen Products Factory and Ventura Leatherware maintain manufacturing operations within this northern industrial complex.
