Chawkbazar Shahi Mosque is a three-domed structure with multiple levels in the heart of Old Dhaka. The central prayer hall connects to additional rooms where religious instruction and community gatherings take place.
Subahdar Shaista Khan ordered its construction in 1664 as a place for Islamic worship in Dhaka. The structure became an important focal point in the city's religious life from the start.
