Joypurhat District, Administrative district in northern Rajshahi Division, Bangladesh.
Joypurhat District is an administrative region in Rajshahi Division comprising five sub-districts spread across fertile plains. It sits between Dinajpur to the north and Naogaon to the south.
The area was part of Bogra District until it became a separate administrative unit in 1984. The region played a significant role in the Swadeshi Movement against British colonial rule.
The region maintains traditional folk performances including keelton, jaree, palagaan, and kabigaan expressions through local gatherings and celebrations.
The harvest season offers the best time to visit when fields turn golden and village activity increases. Flat terrain and good connections between sub-districts make traveling through the region straightforward.
The district contains Bangladesh's largest sugar production facility, the Joypurhat Sugar Mill, while the Hili land port facilitates international trade.
