Barguna Polytechnic Institute

Barguna Polytechnic Institute is a technical education facility located in the district on a 2-acre campus near the Khakdon river, west of Barguna town. It offers diploma programs in five specialties including Computer Technology, Electronics, Civil Engineering, Environmental Technology, and Refrigeration Systems.

The institute was established in 2006 as a technical education facility in the region. Major change came in 2013 when student protests regarding administrative concerns prompted significant shifts in campus management and institutional leadership.

The campus maintains separate residential spaces for male and female students, a practice reflecting social conventions in Bangladesh's education system. This arrangement shapes daily campus life and how students experience their time at the institution.

The institute offers four-year diploma programs with focus on technical skills applicable to industry work. The campus is located about 3 kilometers west of Barguna town, and it is best to visit during daytime hours when classes and activities are in session.
