Bir Sherestha Shaheed Shipahi Mostafa Kamal Stadium, National football stadium in Kamalapur, Bangladesh

Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Shipahi Mostafa Kamal Stadium, commonly called Kamalapur Stadium, is a football ground in Kamalapur, Dhaka, with a playing field entirely covered in artificial grass. Stands around the pitch hold up to 25,000 spectators.

The stadium opened in 2003 in Kamalapur, Dhaka, and is named after Mostafa Kamal, a soldier honoured as Bir Shreshtha for his actions in the 1971 liberation war. In 2013 the National Sports Council leased the venue to the Bangladesh Football Federation for 20 years.

This facility serves as the home ground for Bangladesh national football team and hosts local league matches that draw crowds from across the city. It represents an important gathering place for the sport in the country.

The stadium sits in Kamalapur, in eastern Dhaka, and is used mainly on matchdays of the Dhaka League and Bangladesh Championship League. Outside those fixtures the stands and the artificial pitch are not a visitor attraction, so time a trip to a scheduled game. The playing surface is artificial grass, so footwear for turf is more useful than studs.

This is the only sports facility in Bangladesh with artificial grass covering the entire playing field. This modern setup allows matches to be played consistently throughout the year without concern for field conditions.
