Jamburi Park, Urban park in Agrabad, Bangladesh.
Jamburi Park is a public green space in the Agrabad neighborhood of Chittagong, Bangladesh, built around a central water body with a looping walking path running through the grounds. Planted areas with local tree species, several entrance points, and restroom facilities make it a complete urban park.
The land was previously known as Jamboree Math, a gathering ground for scout groups, and parts of it had also been used for farming by local residents. In 2018, it was transformed into a public park and opened to the neighborhood.
The name Jamburi comes from the old Jamboree Math, a scout gathering ground that once occupied the site, and this open, communal feeling still shapes how people use the space today. Families and neighbors from Agrabad tend to gather here in the cooler parts of the day, turning the park into a meeting point for everyday life.
The park has several entrances, so it is easy to enter from different directions depending on where you are coming from. Early morning and late afternoon are the most comfortable times to visit, when the heat is lower and the grounds are less busy.
The entire park was built using raised ground techniques to stop water from pooling during heavy rain, which is a real challenge in this part of Bangladesh. This means the paths and open areas stay walkable even after strong downpours, which is not always the case in other green spaces nearby.
