Kasteel Ravenhof, Manor house in Stabroek, Belgium
Kasteel Ravenhof is a manor house in Stabroek featuring Rococo Revival architecture with a symmetrical Neo-Louis XV facade, a central section, and two side wings. The wings were added between 1911 and 1920 and define the building's overall appearance.
The estate was owned by the Van Steenland family in the 14th century under the name Goet van Steenlant. Its current form developed in the 18th century with the creation of the park, followed by major modifications in the early 1900s.
The name derives from the Van Steenland family who owned the estate in medieval times. Visitors can explore the formal gardens today, which follow a Versailles style with artificial elevations throughout the grounds.
The property remains closed to the public until 2027 due to extensive renovation work. However, visitors can walk through the surrounding park and explore its formal gardens and woodland areas.
The estate's forests stretch across the border between Belgium and the Netherlands. They form part of the Grenspark De Zoom-Kalmthoutse Heide, a cross-border nature reserve.
