The basilica rises on Publémont hill, featuring a towering stone structure with pointed arches and large stained glass windows depicting biblical scenes.
Originally constructed as a Romanesque building in the 10th century, the church was rebuilt in Gothic style during the 16th century under architect Arnold van Mulken.
The basilica held the first celebration of Corpus Christi in 1246, commissioning Felix Mendelssohn's Lauda Sion for the festival's 600th anniversary in 1846.
Located at Rue du Mont Saint-Martin 66, the basilica opens its doors to visitors who want to explore its architectural elements and religious heritage.
This former collegiate church stands as one of seven historical religious buildings in Liège, receiving the designation of minor basilica in 1886.
