Church of Saint John the Evangelist

The Church of Saint John the Evangelist is a neoclassical place of worship in Liege with an octagonal floor plan and architectural references to the Holy Sepulchre. Its interior combines classical proportions with religious functions that have continued since the early 1800s.

The place of worship was founded around 980 and underwent complete rebuilding in the second half of the 1700s. Two architects reshaped the building according to neoclassical principles during this extensive reconstruction.

The church houses religious artworks spanning centuries, including a Virgin sculpture from the 13th century and liturgical objects commissioned by clergy members. These pieces reflect the place's connection to regional artistic craftsmanship.
