Bolata

Bolata is a beach cove near Kavarna set within a narrow gorge flanked by red limestone cliffs. These rock formations shelter natural caves carved by thousands of years of wave and water erosion.

Ancient settlement remains found in the surrounding caves date back to 400 BCE, revealing that people once lived and worked along this Black Sea coast. This early occupation shows the shore has long held appeal for human settlement.

The place holds meaning for locals as a rare stretch of unspoiled Black Sea coastline where nature takes precedence over development. Its protected status reflects how communities value preserving such spaces for future generations.

The shallow waters extend about 100 meters (330 feet) into the sea, providing safe swimming conditions especially for families with children. The location also serves as a good starting point for boat trips and kayaking toward nearby coastal destinations.

Small harbors on both sides of the beach allow boats and yachts to moor safely while offering direct access for kayaking adventures. These docking points turn the spot into a natural hub for water-based exploration of the nearby coast.
