Saint George's Church

Saint George's Church is a stone building with nine large pointed-arch windows and two entrance gates, designed in a single-nave layout by architect Alekso Angelkov. The structure showcases carefully crafted details with windows that follow the Gothic Revival tradition.

The church was built in 1873 in Sotochino, one of the original villages that later merged to form the current settlement of Gavril Genovo. This joining of separate communities shaped the region's development.

The west gate displays stone carvings with flowers and circular patterns, where birds in the carved scenes represent the struggle between good and evil forces.

The church is located in Montana Province in northwestern Bulgaria and serves as a religious center for the local community. Being a village focal point, it is easy to find and provides a good view of local architecture.

The exterior decorations come from the Slavine Architectural School, with distinctive stone relief work adorning the gate bays. This approach sets the building apart from other religious structures in the area.
