The Old High School of Music is a school building in Ruse that features Neoclassical and Gothic Revival elements with Northern European style influences. The distinctive structure displays elaborately crafted stone details and large window openings across its entire facade.

The building was constructed around 1900 and initially served as a German Protestant school with boarding facilities and a kindergarten. Over the 20th century, it underwent multiple transformations and changes in use before becoming a music school.

The building served for decades as a hub for musical instruction in the city and shaped multiple generations of students. Today, the elegant halls still evoke a time when this house was a place of artistic training.

The building sits on Borisova Street and is currently undergoing renovation to become a museum and cultural center. Visitors can see the exterior architecture, but should check which areas are accessible before visiting.

The building survived shelling during World War I and the 1977 earthquake, which speaks to its robust construction. This resilience is an often overlooked part of its long story.
