Kozya Stena Hut is a mountain lodging in the Central Balkan National Park situated at 1,560 meters elevation with capacity for around 105 guests. The facility provides basic amenities including electricity and running water for visitors who use it as a base for exploring nearby peaks and trails.
The shelter was built in 1940 by mountaineers from Pleven and underwent major reconstruction in the 1980s to modernize its facilities. This renovation significantly expanded the available beds and improved the overall comfort for guests.
The hut functions as a central point along marked hiking trails, connecting various mountain peaks including Kavladan, Kolikon, and Kucheto in the Bulgarian mountains.
Access routes to the hut run from Hristo Danovo village through Damladere or from Chiflik village via Tumin Dyal, offering different hiking options. Visitors should plan their route in advance as the starting points require different walking times and effort levels.
The location offers views toward the Dalgia Nos ridge, which is particularly striking when seen from the hut's vantage point. The area enforces strict nature protection regulations that ban mushroom picking and any disturbance to wildlife.
