Халката, Ancient sanctuary near Glushnik, Bulgaria.

The elliptical hole carved into a vertical rock slab measures 0.77 meters in width and 0.45 meters in height, forming a distinct passage.

Archaeological studies suggest the site functioned as an astronomical observatory, with a carved stone throne positioned 33.88 meters northwest of the central opening.

The sanctuary served as a lunar-solar calendar for early inhabitants, allowing precise observations of celestial movements through its carefully positioned opening.

Located at 297 meters above sea level, the site requires appropriate walking shoes and benefits from morning visits for optimal visibility conditions.

When viewed from the carved stone throne, the horizon line aligns perfectly through the center of the elliptical opening in the rock formation.
