Pingualuit National Park, Arctic nature reserve in Nunavik, Canada.

The Pingualuit National Park spans 1,133 square kilometers of Arctic tundra, featuring continuous permafrost and a meteorite crater containing Pingualuk Lake.

The Government of Quebec established the protected area in 2004, following decades of scientific studies of the meteorite impact site formed 1.4 million years ago.

The name Pingualuit comes from the Inuit language, meaning where the land rises, reflecting the connection between local communities and this territorial landscape.

Visitors can access the park through the Inuit village of Kangiqsujuaq, with July to September offering mild temperatures for hiking and March to April for winter activities.

The waters of Pingualuk Lake remain among the purest on Earth, receiving sustenance exclusively from rain and snow within the crater walls.
