Tiny Marsh Provincial Wildlife Area

Tiny Marsh Provincial Wildlife Area extends across 8.5 square kilometers of marshes, open water, bog, and upland forest near Nottawasaga Bay.

The establishment of Tiny Marsh marked a milestone as Ontario's first provincially owned and managed wetland, setting a precedent for conservation initiatives.

The MTM Conservation Association manages the wildlife area through active community participation, including volunteer programs for bird box installations and research activities.

Visitors can explore 17 kilometers of trails with dikes crossing the marsh, accessing two observation towers, a marsh viewing mound, and a nature center.

The reserve documents approximately 250 bird species, including threatened Least Bitterns and Black Terns, while supporting eleven different duck species throughout the year.
