The Thomas D'Arcy McGee Building is an office building at 90 Sparks Street, on the south side east of Metcalfe, opened in 1981. Its bottom two storeys hold a shopping complex, with offices above; the Royal Bank of Canada logo remains on the structure as its Ottawa headquarters.

The structure opened in 1981 as the Royal Bank Centre before the federal government purchased it in 2001. This change of ownership brought a new identity reflecting the nation's political heritage.

The building honors Thomas D'Arcy McGee, an Irish-Canadian political figure who shaped the nation's early development. Walking past it, you connect with a key person in Canada's founding story.

The building was renamed in 2002 after Thomas D'Arcy McGee, who was assassinated in 1868 near the site, not on it. The site itself once held a row of stores, including hat maker and retailer R.J. Devlin Limited, which later operated as Morgan's.
