Mill Creek Nature Park, Municipal park in Riverview, Canada.
Mill Creek Nature Park is a municipal park in Riverview that covers approximately 130 hectares of forest and wetland habitats connected by walking trails. The park offers visitors access to natural areas where they can explore different ecosystems across its grounds.
The site was home to Canadian Forces Station Coverdale from 1944 to 1971, a military facility that monitored German radio communications during World War II. Remnants of this former military installation remain scattered across the park grounds.
Local students and community members initiated the establishment of this recreational space, leading to its official designation as a park in 2013.
The park has three main entry points accessible from Runneymeade Road, Robertson Street, or the Fox Field parking area near the former Garden Centre. Visitors should wear sturdy footwear since trail conditions vary and surfaces can become slippery, especially after rain.
A reservoir of about 5 hectares dominates part of the park, created in the 1960s by a concrete buttress dam that now serves as a focal point for recreational activities. This man-made lake offers visitors an unexpected water feature where they can pause and enjoy views different from the surrounding forests.
