Gross Fiescherhorn, Mountain summit in Bernese Alps, Switzerland
The Gross Fiescherhorn reaches an elevation of 4048.8 meters and forms part of a massive mountain chain between Mönch and Finsteraarhorn peaks.
H.B. George and Adolphus Warburton Moore completed the first documented climb of Gross Fiescherhorn in July 1862, accompanied by guides Christian Almer and Ulrich Kaufmann.
The mountain spans across Grindelwald and Fieschertal municipalities, representing a natural border between the Swiss cantons of Bern and Valais.
Climbers can access the mountain through three primary bases: Mönchsjoch Hut, Konkordia Hut, and Finsteraarhorn Hut, each offering different approach routes.
The north face of Gross Fiescherhorn remained unclimbed until 1926 when W. Amstutz and P. von Schumacher completed a demanding 15-hour ascent.
