Fluchthorn

The Fluchthorn peak rises to 3,397 meters at the border between Tyrol, Austria, and Graubünden, Switzerland, within the Silvretta mountain range.

During June 2023, the mountain experienced a significant transformation when its southern peak collapsed due to permafrost melting, reducing its height by 18 meters.

The mountain represented a meeting point between Austrian and Swiss Alpine traditions, marked by a religious cross at its summit until 2023.

Climbers need to check current conditions before attempting ascents, as the 2023 geological changes modified several established climbing routes on the mountain.

The mountain contains three distinct summits, with the middle peak becoming the highest point at 3,397 meters following the collapse of the southern section.
