Badushütte, Mountain hut in Grisons, Switzerland
Badushütte is a mountain hut located at 2505 meters in the Saint-Gotthard Massif with sleeping space for around 20 people. The building includes separate rooms for summer and winter use, along with a dining area for guests.
The Alpine Club of Switzerland founded this mountain shelter in 1967 as a resting point for climbers in the Grisons region. This creation was part of a broader effort to develop organized trekking routes through the Alps during the mid-20th century.
The hut preserves Alpine tradition through communal meals where hikers gather and share their mountain experiences. The shared dining space creates a sense of community among travelers from different backgrounds.
The hut is reached via a hiking trail of approximately 10 kilometers from Oberalppass, with clear markings suitable for most walkers. Visitors should bring weather-resistant clothing, as mountain weather at this altitude can change quickly.
The hut sits at a junction of several hiking paths, including routes to Tomasee lake and the nearby Maighelshütte refuge. This strategic location makes it a natural hub for multi-day mountain expeditions.
