Langstrasse

Langstrasse is a mixed-use street corridor that runs from the district courts to Zürich's main train station. Along the route are numerous bars, restaurants, small shops, and residential buildings that define the character of a working neighborhood.

Italian construction workers settled in the area during the 19th century, driving rapid growth and transforming it into a working-class district. These roots continue to shape its character today.

The street takes its name from its length and connects different parts of the city. Today, the shops, restaurants, and bars reflect the diversity of people who live and work in the area.

The neighborhood has a high concentration of nightlife venues and bars, many of which stay open into the early morning hours. Public transit makes it easy to reach, and the network of narrow streets is best explored on foot.

Langstrassenfest takes place every two years and draws over 270,000 visitors to celebrate the neighborhood's diversity through music and food. The festival reflects how the area has become a gathering place for people from different backgrounds.
