Walensee-Bühne, Open-air stage in Walenstadt, Switzerland.
The Walensee-Bühne is an open-air stage located on the shore of Lake Walensee with covered seating for approximately 2000 spectators. The venue sits along the waterfront with mountains rising in the background.
The stage was built in 2005 and has operated seasonally along the lakeshore since its opening. In 2010, new management took over to ensure the venue's long-term operation.
The stage hosts musical performances ranging from Swiss productions to international adaptations. Visitors come to experience both local and global theatrical works presented in an outdoor setting by the water.
Doors open before each performance, and shows are scheduled throughout the week during the season. Plan ahead to check the current program before visiting.
The entire stage structure is assembled and taken apart each season using thousands of wooden logs and tons of rock materials. This temporary construction is built fresh for summer performances and then completely dismantled.
