The former Oetenbach nunnery structure stands prominently on the western shore of the Limmat river, now serving as the police department headquarters.
Between 1911 and 1914, architect Gustav Gull transformed the building into an administrative complex while preserving elements from its medieval monastery origins.
The entrance area, known as Giacometti Halle, features vault and wall paintings created by Augusto Giacometti, representing significant Swiss artistic heritage.
Located at Bahnhofquai 3, the building maintains its position as an active administrative center while preserving its architectural and historical elements.
The structure remains as the last surviving building of the Oetenbach nunnery complex, following the demolition of other monastery structures in 1901.
