Morse Park, Urban park in Wong Tai Sin, Hong Kong
Morse Park is a green space of about 16 hectares in Kowloon divided into four separate sections. It features tennis courts, football fields, swimming pools, skating rinks, and indoor sports facilities.
The park takes its name from Sir Morse, a former HSBC chairman who contributed to Hong Kong's economic recovery after World War II. It was developed as a space for public recreation and sports in densely built Kowloon.
The Wong Tai Sin Cultural Park section within the grounds preserves a water well over a hundred years old and provides a plaza for Tai Chi practice. These spaces show how local traditions remain woven into the daily use of the place.
The park is located on Fung Wo Street with several entrances to explore all four sections. It is worth planning time for different activities, as the grounds are extensive and may require several hours depending on your interests.
During Chinese New Year celebrations, the park hosts floral exhibitions that provide a less crowded alternative to larger events. This makes it an interesting option for visitors seeking festive atmosphere without excessive crowds.
