Kowloon Tsai Park, Urban park in Kowloon City District, Hong Kong
Kowloon Tsai Park is a public green space in Kowloon City District featuring sports fields, swimming facilities, and gardens. The site covers rolling hills and flat areas connected by pathways that link football pitches and tennis courts.
The land was originally used for sand extraction during runway expansion works for Kai Tak Airport in the 1950s. Since 1964, it has been operated as a public park.
The park serves as a gathering spot for neighborhood festivals and daily tai chi classes, where sports teams train regularly. On weekends, families come to picnic on the green spaces surrounded by residential buildings.
The park is accessible from Lok Fu MTR station and offers basketball courts, tennis facilities, and two artificial grass fields for football. A swimming complex operates during the warmer months.
At a higher point, the ground still displays a checkerboard pattern from 1954 that served as a visual marker for incoming aircraft. This pattern inspired the local name Checkerboard Hill for the elevation.
