CITIC Plaza

CITIC Plaza is a skyscraper in Guangzhou that rises 390 meters tall and features a glass facade with two distinctive spires crowning its roofline. The structure contains 80 floors above ground and provides over 205,000 square meters of office and commercial space served by 36 elevators.

The building was constructed between 1993 and 1996 and briefly held the title of world's tallest concrete structure. Its completion marked a turning point in modern construction and demonstrated Guangzhou's emergence as an economic powerhouse.

The building symbolizes Guangzhou's rapid economic growth in the 1990s and represents the city's transformation into a modern business hub. Its prominence in the skyline reflects the aspirations of that era and how people experienced the city's changing identity.
