Guangfa Securities Headquarters, Office skyscraper in Zhujiang New Town, Guangzhou, China
Guangfa Securities Headquarters is a 308-meter office tower in Zhujiang New Town featuring 62 floors above ground and 5 below, built with a reinforced concrete core and steel tube columns. The structure includes distinct rental and corporate office areas separated by an internal sky lobby.
The company behind this tower grew from a small banking department in 1991 into a major financial institution, establishing this headquarters as its base in the emerging finance district. The building's construction marked a turning point in Guangzhou's rise as a financial power.
The tower symbolizes Guangzhou's emergence as a major financial hub in Asia, reflecting how the city has reshaped itself into a modern international business center. Its design shows the connection between local trading customs and contemporary global practices.
The building uses separate elevator systems that access a sky lobby on the 30th floor, dividing the different office zones efficiently. The tapered design leaves most of the ground level open, creating a public plaza where visitors can walk around the base of the structure.
The structure covers just 30 percent of its site, intentionally leaving most of the ground level open as a public space in the busy financial district. This unusual approach creates a breathing room that most passersby barely notice but which changes how the area feels compared to surrounding buildings.
