Haixinsha Island

Haixinsha Island is an entertainment venue set on the Pearl River in Guangzhou, positioned between Huacheng Square and Canton Tower. The island features open green spaces, water stages, and seating areas designed to host concerts, festivals, and public celebrations.

The site served as a military garrison and storage area until the local government took over the land in 2007 and began redevelopment. When Guangzhou hosted the Asian Games in 2010, the island was rebuilt into the modern venue it is today.

The island displays structures built for the 2010 Asian Games that continue to serve as venues for major public events and gatherings. These spaces reflect how the city transformed a former military area into a modern gathering place for its residents.

The island is easiest to reach via the APM line of Guangzhou Metro at Haixinsha station, which connects through an underground passage. Access is well marked, and you should plan for crowds during major events or festivals.

The island can hold up to 35,000 people in its western section, making it one of the city's largest outdoor event spaces. This capacity allows both smaller gatherings and massive public celebrations to take place on the same site.
