Du Fu Thatched Cottage, Museum and park in Chengdu, China.

Du Fu Thatched Cottage is a museum and park in Chengdu dedicated to the famous poet and spanning several hectares. The complex features traditional Chinese buildings, bamboo groves, small bridges crossing streams, and winding pathways that guide visitors through different sections.

The original house was built in 759 during the Tang Dynasty when the renowned poet settled there. He spent several years at this location creating some of his most celebrated works before his legacy was preserved and expanded as a memorial site in later eras.

This place honors one of China's greatest poets, whose works have inspired artists and scholars across the centuries. Visitors can see how his poems entered different cultures and continue to be revered today.

The park is accessible to visitors on most days and the grounds are easy to explore on foot, with plenty of rest spots scattered under the trees. Good walking shoes are recommended since some paths are uneven and there are many small bridges to cross.

The grounds preserve artifacts and objects from different dynasties that show how the poet was honored across the centuries. These collections demonstrate that his influence extended far beyond his own lifetime and took deep roots in Chinese society.
