Jiangwan Bridge, Transportation bridge in Guangzhou, China
Jiangwan Bridge connects the Haizhu District with the Yuexiu District across the Pearl River as part of Guangzhou's Inner Ring Road system. The structure has multiple traffic lanes and allows many cars to cross the river simultaneously.
The bridge opened in 1998 and was an important step forward for Guangzhou's transportation network at that time. It was built as the city grew and needed better ways to move more people and vehicles across the river.
The northern end of the bridge connects to Dashatou wharf, a busy hub where river passengers transfer between boats daily. This waterfront spot shows how the city relies on the Pearl River for moving people around.
When using the bridge, expect heavy traffic during rush hours when movement slows down significantly. It is easy to reach viewpoints on foot if you want to watch river activity below and see the districts on both sides.
Near the Haizhu ramp stands Dabenying, the former residence of a major historical figure, now operating as a memorial museum. Many people crossing the bridge do not realize this cultural site is within reach.
