Lok Man Sun Chuen, Public rental housing estate in Kowloon City District, Hong Kong.
Lok Man Sun Chuen is a public rental housing estate in Kowloon City District consisting of eleven residential towers positioned between To Kwa Wan and Ho Man Tin. The development provides apartments of varying sizes along with shared facilities including carparks, playgrounds, shops, and a social services center integrated into the grounds.
The estate was built between 1970 and 1973 and marked the first large-scale use of prefabricated building components by the Hong Kong Housing Society. This construction approach became influential for subsequent affordable housing developments across the city.
The estate features 3,674 apartments ranging from 18 to 56 square meters, supporting intergenerational living with dedicated units for elderly residents.
The estate is easily navigable on foot with clear pathways connecting the different buildings and open areas. Visitors will find public restrooms, water fountains, and seating areas distributed throughout the landscaped sections.
A connecting footbridge and transfer lift tower link the estate to surrounding neighborhoods and assist residents with limited mobility in moving through the area. These additions were installed in 2014 as part of broader infrastructure improvements to the complex.
