The Zhongxian Yangtze River Bridge extends 1,200 meters across the Yangtze River, connecting both sides of Zhong County in Chongqing municipality.
The construction of this engineering structure required an investment of 246 million RMB and received the Lu Ban Award for engineering excellence in 2006.
The bridge represents the transformation of transportation methods in Chongqing, where people traditionally relied on river ferries to cross the Yangtze.
This structure carries China National Highway 350 and reduces travel time between communities on opposite banks of the Yangtze River.
The bridge reaches a height of 158 meters above the water and includes a main span of 560 meters, placing it among notable suspension bridges.
