Wulingshan Bridge, Cable-stayed bridge in Pengshui, China
The Wulingshan Bridge extends 360 meters across a deep valley with two planes of stays connecting to A-frame towers reaching 188 meters in height.
The construction of Wulingshan Bridge reached completion in 2009 as part of the G65 Chongqing-Hunan Expressway connecting Chongqing city to Hunan Province.
Wulingshan Bridge represents Chinese engineering capabilities through its precise design and implementation in challenging mountainous terrain over the Wujiang River gorge.
The bridge deck spans 27 meters in width with four traffic lanes, enabling efficient transportation between regions while maintaining a 263-meter clearance above the valley floor.
This structure ranks as the third highest cable-stayed bridge worldwide, following only the Biyang River Bridge in Mexico and the Millau Viaduct in France.
