Belair Monte, Residential complex in Fanling, Hong Kong.
Belair Monte is a residential complex in Fanling, Hong Kong, made up of seven high-rise towers with around 1,680 units in total. The towers sit above a shared podium level that runs across the whole site and connects all buildings at ground floor.
The complex was completed in 1998, built as a joint venture between eleven property developers, among them New World Development and Sun Hung Kai. Projects like this were common in Hong Kong during that decade, when large sites were often developed by groups of investors working together.
Belair Monte falls within School Net 81 of Hong Kong's North District, which matters to many families when choosing a home in this area. The shared spaces within the grounds reflect a common pattern in Hong Kong residential life, where amenities are built into the complex itself.
The site has a swimming pool, gymnasium, tennis courts, and a two-floor shopping center that is open to both residents and visitors. Fanling is well connected to central Hong Kong by rail, making the area easy to reach from other parts of the city.
The entire complex was designed by Dennis Lau and Ng Chun Man, an architecture firm known for large-scale residential work across Hong Kong. Despite having seven separate towers, the shared podium allows residents to move between buildings without going outside.
