Sheung Shui Public Library, Public library in North District, Hong Kong.

Sheung Shui Public Library occupies the third floor of Shek Wu Hui Municipal Services Building and provides book collections, study spaces, and computer terminals for public use. The layout includes designated areas for different age groups and subject interests.

The library opened on 30 January 1979 as Sheung Shui Public Library in the basement of Shing Fat Building on San Fung Road, with about 3,000 square feet and 6,000 books. In 1982 it moved to the North District Community Centre on Lung Sum Road, where the collection grew to about 25,000 books. It relocated to Shek Wu Hui Municipal Services Building in September 1994 as the North District Public Library, taking its current name after a planned library in Fanling was confirmed.

The library's name preserves local history: the building and its market are called Shek Wu Hui after the old market nearby, though the building itself stands outside Shek Wu Hui. Its 1,800-square-metre floor holds adult and children's libraries, a multimedia library, a computer centre and a students' study room.

The library occupies the third floor of Shek Wu Hui Municipal Services Building at 13 Chi Cheung Road, beside Sheung Shui Garden. It holds adult, children's and multimedia collections, a computer information centre and a students' study room, plus a book drop for returns outside opening hours. Wi-Fi access has been available since March 2008.
