Cheung Shan Estate, Public rental housing complex in Tsuen Wan District, Hong Kong.
Cheung Shan Estate is a public housing complex in Tsuen Wan built with three residential buildings of different styles. Twin towers make up Lok Shan House while Sau Shan House and Tsui Shan House feature slab-type construction to accommodate residents.
The estate was completed in 1978 and replaced a former temporary shelter area called Cheung Pei Shan. This project was part of a larger effort to provide people with permanent housing solutions instead of makeshift quarters.
The name comes from the nearby Cheung Pei Shan hill and functions as a residential neighborhood where families gather in common areas and shop at local businesses throughout their daily lives.
The complex sits between Shek Wai Kok Estate and Lei Muk Shue Estate with convenient public transport connections nearby. Visitors can explore Shing Mun Valley Park and find shops and services throughout the surrounding area for daily needs.
The complex participates in the LST Housing scheme which provides 145 transitional housing units for families waiting for permanent public rental homes. This temporary arrangement helps people with lower incomes secure shelter more quickly.
