Tsuen Wan Jockey Club Tak Wah Park

This urban park features traditional pavilions, stone bridges, and water features that connect historic buildings with modern recreational spaces throughout the grounds. Multiple pathways and entrances around Tak Wah Street provide access to different areas of the landscape.

The site was developed from the former Hoi Pa village, a Hakka settlement whose original buildings remain within the grounds. The Hong Kong Jockey Club transformed this area into public space while protecting its historical structures.

The ancestral hall within the grounds shows traditional Chinese building methods and how family histories are preserved in the landscape. You can observe how these structures fit naturally among the modern gardens and walking paths.

The grounds are open daily from early morning until late evening, with multiple entry points making it easy to visit at your convenience. Well-maintained pathways guide you through both the historical and recreational sections.

One structure within the grounds received monument status in 1986, making it one of the oldest preserved buildings in Tsuen Wan. This protected site demonstrates how historical elements can be maintained within a modern urban setting.
