The Military Governor's Office stands as a government complex with traditional Chinese architecture featuring gray stone walls and wooden structures in Taiyuan's central district.

During the early 20th century, this building served as the headquarters for military governor Yan Xishan, who controlled Shanxi province from 1911 to 1945.

The compound incorporates elements of both northern Chinese administrative architecture and local Shanxi building techniques, reflecting regional governance traditions.

Visitors can access the site through the main entrance on the south side, with guided tours available in multiple languages from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The office complex contains original furniture and documents from the warlord period, including Yan Xishan's personal desk and military strategy maps.
