Beilun II Bridge, International road bridge between Dongxing, China and Móng Cái, Vietnam.
The Beilun II Bridge is an international road bridge connecting Dongxing in China and Móng Cái in Vietnam across the Beilun River. It features four traffic lanes dedicated exclusively to freight transportation, while passenger crossings still use the original bridge nearby.
Construction of the bridge began in 2014 as a joint project between China and Vietnam and was completed in September 2017. The project reflected bilateral efforts to improve transportation connections across the shared border.
The bridge strengthens economic relations between China and Vietnam by connecting two major trading cities across their shared border.
The bridge is exclusively for freight vehicles, so regular passenger traffic cannot cross here and must use the original bridge instead. Visitors should note this is a dedicated cargo route and not accessible to standard passenger vehicles.
Both countries invested equally in the project, each contributing half the total cost. This equal partnership was noteworthy as it demonstrated how the two nations strengthened their cross-border relationship through shared infrastructure development.
